As my passion for quilting and embroidery has grown over the years, so has my desire to learn to sew. I’ve been experimenting with household items such as pillows, cushions and chair covers. Next up – curtains! This book by Vanessa Arbuthnott has been most helpful to me!
I purchased this book a while back thru Nancy’s Notions. Little did I know how much I would come to love this book! I have since started following Vanessa Arbuthnott. She is a very talented home stylist and writer. I have found the instructions in this book to be so well written and easy to follow.
Below is a sample of projects I have tackled using this book as a guide – Director’s Chair Covers, Simple Lampshade Cover, Box Edge Cushion, and easy to follow zipper instructions! Ivy is our Frenchie.
After some simpler projects, I even gained the confidence to help my son and daughter-in-law make new cushions and window coverings for their Airstream! Trubble is our son and daughter-in-law’s Frenchie.
Next up will be a simple rod pocket lined valance for our new home. I think I can handle this! I hope to show you the finished product, as well as a few how-to’s soon. I have several other windows begging for beautiful window dressings, so stay tuned!
