I am OBSESSED with vintage linens. And by “vintage”, I’m especially fond of feedsacks and yardage used to make feedsacks. I love mid-century tablecloths. Doilies and hand embroidered items remind me of the women that lovingly created them. And I guess, for that reason, more than any other, I collect and try to use vintage linens to continue their memory. http://www.quilthistory.com/feedsacks.htm
This pillow was a fun use of vintage fabrics, lace, hankies, doilies, buttons, etc. Great ideas from Kelly Cline!
This tablerunner was inspired by Nancy Zieman. How I miss her! I used roses cut from a vintage tablecloth as the focus.
My “Farm Girl Vintage Quilt” is from the the pattern and book by Lori Holt. I used a vintage tablecloth for the back of my quilt, allowing me to use both sides as a nice large tablerunner.
This tablerunner was made from a vintage Christmas tablecloth. I used new fabric for the back. It plays nicely with one of my vintage red & white doilies and my Fenton ruby bird!
The cherries and berries table runner with yellow is my favorite.
